McCrary Selected for NC Principal Fellows

Mrs. McCrary has been teaching for 20 years and holds a Master’s degree in Middle Grades Education and is certified in Mathematics and Academically or Intellectually Gifted Education. She also holds a National Board Certification which is the most respected professional certification available in education. In addition to teaching math, Mrs. McCrary also serves in an Advanced Teacher Role for Mount Airy City Schools (MACS). 

 

Mrs. McCrary will begin her two-year Masters in School Administration this fall. Upon successful completion of the program, Mrs. McCrary will serve as a school administrator for four years in the state to repay the grant through service.

 

Dr. Olivia Sikes, Executive Director of Academics shared, “We are very excited for Katie as she begins the next chapter as a lifelong learner. Her acceptance into the NC Principal Fellows Program at Appalachian State University is a testament to her dedication as an educator and her desire to grow in her profession.” 

 

McCrary stated, “I am truly blessed by the opportunity and honored to represent MACS as a Principal Fellow. I look forward to working alongside and serving students, colleagues, and families across the district in the years to come.”
