Trotter Named Curriculum Facilitator

Mount Airy City Schools is pleased to announce that Mrs. Eve Trotter has been promoted as B. H. Tharrington Primary School’s (BHT) Curriculum Facilitator. Mrs. Trotter has been in education for ten years and has been the school’s literacy specialist since 2016. She is married to Gray and they have two boys, Wes and Kit.

She graduated from Appalachian State University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. Over the course of her career she has earned her National Board Certification, become a North Carolina Department of Public Instruction Master Literacy Teacher, and earned her Master of School Administration from Appalachian State University.

Principal Emily Niston notes that, “Mrs. Trotter has been a leader in our school for several years, serving our students and staff in the role as Literacy Specialist as well as being the chair of our School Improvement Team.  She has a depth of knowledge in the K-2 curriculum and is committed to helping our students reach their full potential.  I have no doubt she will excel in this position.”

Mrs. Trotter, a 2005 Mount Airy High School graduate, states, “I am excited to join the administrative team and continue serving alongside the incredible staff and students of Tharrington Primary School. Together, we will continue the important work of leading and innovating to serve the needs of all of our students.  As a proud graduate of Mount Airy City Schools, it is my honor to continue investing in the school district that invested so much in me. I will eagerly embrace this opportunity to learn and grow as an educator."

The Mount Airy City Schools Board of Education and administration are pleased to introduce Mrs. Eve Trotter as the new curriculum facilitator of BHT. She is currently serving as the school’s interim curriculum facilitator and will officially begin this new role June 17, 2019.
