Students competed in over 10 rounds of spelling to see who the winner and runner-up would be for the 2022-2023 MACS District Spelling Bee. Twelve students earned a spot at the district bee after competing at their school's grade-level bees earlier this year.
3rd Grade: Alex and Kevin
4th Grade: Bentley and Daniel
5th Grade: Bates and Halen
6th Grade: Braden and Jack
7th Grade: Naaman and Nathan
8th Grade: Stacee and Benjamin
The winner of the 2022-2023 MACS District Spelling Bee was Benjamin Albisto, an 8th-grade student at Mount Airy Middle School.
The runner-up of the 2022-2023 MACS District Spelling Bee was Nathan Haynes, a 7th-grade student at Mount Airy Middle School.
Benjamin Albiston will go on to represent the district in the Carolina Panthers Regional Spelling Bee on March 5, 2023.
