As we take this summer time to reflect on the past school year, refresh with the enjoyment of summer fun, and prepare for the upcoming school experiences we are often reminded of the journey. Over the past few years, we have created new partnerships with Richard Childress Racing, Wake Forest University, The University of Texas at Dallas, Renfro, The Center for International Understanding, and many others. We also have created new programs such as our Language Leaders program at BH Tharrington, our Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics programs at each school, and our Chinese program at Mount Airy High School. We want to continue this tradition of academic excellence and innovation as we step into this new era of education. You, as parents, have many choices as to where to send your children and we want to make Mount Airy City Schools your first choice.
Over the next few months, I will be asking for your input as I listen, learn, and plan. I will be engaging the community of Mount Airy during listening and learning sessions. I would like to know what your hopes and dreams are for the children of Mount Airy and I believe we can plan together to make our dreams a reality.
